Becoming Kings: Michael & Carrie’s Wedding at The Barn at Chestnut Springs

There are three things Michael and Carrie love more than anything in the world: nature and its animals, craft beer, and each other. So, it only made sense that their wedding should reflect these priorities in earnest, a goal which they achieved seamlessly on a warm summer day at The Barn at Chestnut Springs.

The couple, residents of Little Rock seeking to retreat to the Tennessee mountains for their nuptials, is certainly an eclectic pairing: Carrie, a graduate student in the final year of her doctoral program for clinical neuropsychology, and Michael, a park naturalist and home-brewer. But these differences only served to create a wholly unique celebration of their wholly unique love.

As Eden Bliss Weddings’ photographs beautifully document, the couple decorated their venue in shades of coral and ivory incorporating décor items which nod to both modern and shabby-chic sensibilities; between their ivory block initials on the mantle and the hints of succulents that balanced the rustic mood of the venue, Michael and Carrie’s wedding was certainly a celebration of individuality. Even the guests all donned homemade paper Burger King-style crowns to celebrate the Kings’ union.

After an outdoor ceremony under a floral-staggered arbor decorated beautifully by Melissa Timm Designs, the couple walked down an aisle of petals to their reception where Smokey Mountain Sounds kept the guests dancing and the atmosphere lively. Whether they were posing for the photo guestbook, mugging for Cinema House videography, or enjoying some Dead End BBQ with a hoppy brew served by The Pour Guys, everyone in attendance felt the atmosphere of celebration and elation that the event deserved.

Following the cutting of the cake, a naked confection by Catie Cakes adorned with strawberries, cherries, blackberries, and flowers, the couple indulged in the time-honored tradition of a bouquet toss before a few more dances, another drink or two, and a stunning sparkler exit that completed the night of their dreams. Coordinated flawlessly by Custom Love, Michael and Carrie’s event exemplified the goal of any truly great wedding: to eat, drink, and be married.
